Kathleen Miller Dzura has been involved with Montessori education since 1965 when she received her Primary Montessori  Diploma from The Washington Montessori Institute. (Mario  and Ada Montessori were the oral examiners  that year!!)  In 1985 , Kathleen received  her Elementary diploma from WMI.

Throughout her 60 years in Montessori education, Kathleen has taught both Primary and Elementary children in private and public school settings. After 15 years of teaching in some of Philadelphia’s poorest urban settings, Kathleen and two colleagues, founded The Philadelphia  Montessori Charter School for children ages 3 to 12  in 2004 . She held the position of CEO and Head of school for 5 years. 

Kathleen had the amazing  privilege of working with Mother Isabel Eugenie who was trained by Maria Montessori!  In the 11 years under Mother Isabel’s guidance , Kathleen worked as a Primary teacher, a Montessori teacher trainer in the Assumption Montessori Training Center and served as Head of School for the lab school at Ravenhill Academy  which was associated with the training center. Kathleen also served as Head of School for two more private schools in the Philadelphia area.

During her long and wonderful career, Kathleen has been blessed to remain close to children in her care, often being found working with children in various classrooms as needed. She continues to work and currently is Head of School at Little Flower Montessori School in Wilton Manors, Florida.
